{"id":4512,"date":"2021-09-08T07:38:06","date_gmt":"2021-09-08T07:38:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.collezionepaolovi.it\/?page_id=4512"},"modified":"2024-06-06T13:25:46","modified_gmt":"2024-06-06T13:25:46","slug":"museum","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.collezionepaolovi.it\/en\/museum\/","title":{"rendered":"Museum"},"content":{"rendered":"<div template=\"block-foto-sx-testo\" class=\"row g-0 a-reveal js-reveal \">\r\n    <div class=\"col-10 offset-1 mt-4 mb-4\">\r\n        <div class=\"o-stripe\">\r\n            <div class=\"o-stripe--first\">\r\n                <div class=\"mb-4\">\r\n                                            <p class=\"m-heading m-heading--md text-primary\">Paul VI Collection<\/p>\r\n                                                                <p class=\"m-heading m-heading--base  text-secondary\">A Museum of Contemporary Art<\/p>\r\n                                    <\/div>\r\n                <div class=\"\">\r\n                    <p>The Paul VI Collection &#8211; Contemporary Art takes its name from Giovanni Battista Montini (1897-1987), Pope Paul VI from 1963, and is located in Concesio, in the province of Brescia, where Montini was originally born.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Far from being a mere Memorial of Paul VI or a gallery of sacred arts, the Museum is a collection of works resulting from human, lively and cordial relations between the Pope and many artists of his time.<\/p>\n<p>The Museum preserves and exhibits a collection of paintings, drawings, prints, medals and sculptures of the 20<sup>th<\/sup> century that can be traced back to Montini and his secretary Mons. Pasquale Macchi. Among the authors represented in the Collection there figure Matisse, Chagall, Picasso, Dal&iacute;, Magritte, Rouault, Severini, de Chirico, Morandi, Fontana, Manz&ugrave;, Hartung, Guitton and many other protagonists on the national and international scene.<\/p>\n<p>The Collection is arranged over two floors in a 1,000 m<sup>2<\/sup> exhibition space. Thanks to his open vision inspired by&nbsp; modernity, Pope Paul VI affirmed that art could no longer be conceived, by the Church, as a self-referential means, solely measured and limited within the canons of&nbsp; tradition. On the contrary, art should be intended as the free expression of the sensibility of the artist, a privileged path into the questions of the modern man and the search for the transcendent.<\/p>\n<p>In this approach and rediscovery of the Truth, the artist is simultaneously creator and mediator in relation to God, able to convert the invisible into accessible and intelligible formulas.<\/p>\n<p>The constant reference to beauty as the &ldquo;splendour of the Truth&rdquo; in Montini&rsquo;s writings is therefore not to be intended as an end in its own sake, an abstract concept and a pursuit of a formal perfection, but as a participation of the sensible world in divine creation. An act that, beyond personal choices in style and technique, bears witness to a search in the realm of Truth.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>                                    <\/div>\r\n            <\/div>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n<\/div>\n\n<div template=\"block-foto-sx-testo\" class=\"row g-0 a-reveal js-reveal \">\r\n    <div class=\"col-10 offset-1 mt-4 mb-4\">\r\n        <div class=\"o-stripe\">\r\n            <div class=\"o-stripe--first\">\r\n                <div class=\"mb-4\">\r\n                                            <p class=\"m-heading m-heading--md text-primary\">The museum complex and the Birth House<\/p>\r\n                                                                <p class=\"m-heading m-heading--base  text-secondary\">Art and spirituality in Montini\u2019s places<\/p>\r\n                                    <\/div>\r\n                <div class=\"\">\r\n                    <p>The exhibition space, inaugurated in 2009 by Pope Benedict XVI and made accessible in 2010, is part of a larger monumental complex which includes three buildings: northernmost Istituto Paolo VI, an international centre of studies on the figure of Montini; the central building hosts the Museum; and the southernmost curvilinear building operates as an auditorium which can hold up to 250 guests.<\/p>\n<p>These buildings lie in the area of pertinence of the Montinis&rsquo; birthplace with the aim of ideally connecting the spaces of youth of the Holy Father with the new spaces which preserve the <a href=\"https:\/\/context.reverso.net\/traduzione\/inglese-italiano\/tangible+and+intangible\">tangible and intangible<\/a> heritage of his apostolate.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>                                    <\/div>\r\n            <\/div>\r\n            <div class=\"o-stripe--second\">\r\n                <div class=\"m-img m-img--stripe\">\r\n                    <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.collezionepaolovi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/31--scaled.jpg\" class=\"\" alt=\"\">\r\n                <\/div>\r\n            <\/div>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n<\/div>\n\n<div template=\"block-foto-dx-testo\" class=\"row g-0 a-reveal js-reveal\">\r\n    <div class=\"col-10 offset-1 mt-4 mb-4\">\r\n        <div class=\"o-stripe\">\r\n            <div class=\"o-stripe--first order-xl-1 order-2\">\r\n                <div class=\"m-img m-img--stripe\">\r\n                    <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.collezionepaolovi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Loghi-def-def.png\" class=\"\" alt=\"\">\r\n                <\/div>\r\n            <\/div>\r\n            <div class=\"o-stripe--second order-xl-2 order-1\">\r\n                <div class=\"mb-4\">\r\n                                            <p class=\"m-heading m-heading--md text-primary\">An interconnected museum<\/p>\r\n                                                        <\/div>\r\n                <div class=\"\">\r\n                    <p>In 2014 the Paul VI Collection was acknowledged as a <b>Museum <\/b>by the region of <b>Lombardy, <\/b>and in 2021 it became part of the<b> <\/b><b>Sistema<\/b> <b>Museale ed Ecomuseale di Valle Trompia<\/b>; since 2015 the Museum has also been a member of <b>AMEI-<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/b><b> Associazione Musei Ecclesiastici Italiani<\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Museum is also affiliated with <b>FAI- Fondo Ambiente Italiano<\/b> and <b>TCI-Touring Club Italiano<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2017 the Museum has been included in the project <b>La scuola esce, la cultura cresce,<\/b> in collaboration with AmbienteParco, Fondazione Brescia Musei, Museo di Scienze Naturali, Musil &ndash; Museo del Ferro, Teatro Telaio, Fondazione PInAC and Casa-Museo Zani.<\/p>\n<p>The Museum is also part of <b>MAC <\/b>network <b>&ndash; Museo Accessibile e Creativit&agrave;<\/b> with Fondazione PInAC, Fondazione Brescia Musei, Museo Diocesano di Brescia, MAVS &ndash; Museo Archeologico della Valle Sabbia and Fondazione Musil.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In addition, the Paul VI Collection works closely with <b>local institutional, cultural and associative bodies<\/b>, implementing <b>joint projects <\/b>for the benefit of all audiences.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>                                    <\/div>\r\n            <\/div>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":2,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-4512","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.1.1 -
